Bishop James Aaron Jones Sr. is the Senior Pastor of the Divine Destiny Cathedral in Brooklyn, New York.  He is the founder of this vibrant, multi-cultural ministry for over sixteen years.  Born on January 28, 1972 is a native of Queens, New York. He attended The New York City Public School System. After graduating from High School Bishop Jones later went on to hold prominent positions in the Finance Industry. As he climbed the ladder of success in corporate America God had another plan for his life.

 

He was saved at the tender age of fifteen and received his foundational training at Behlin Holy Temple Church of God In Christ under the strong leadership and spiritual mentoring of his great grandfather, Bishop James J Behlin and First Lady Suller Behlin. Being fully nurtured on the Word of God and exercised proven in the faith, Jones was ordained a Deacon at the age of 18; the youngest deacon ever to serve at his local church. He also served in various capacities in ministry; to name a few he was the choir director of his local church choir, the Behlin Holy Temple COGIC Gospel Chorus and directed for the South Central District Choir in the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God In Christ and the State Choir of the O.M. Kelly F.D. Washington Brotherhood of the COGIC, he was also a Junior Usher, an Usher, a Trustee, a Willing Worker and the list goes on.

 

At the age of 20 Jones became a licensed Minister and six years later he was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God In Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Clarence C. Harmon. As an Elder, Jones served faithfully as Assistant to the late Bishop Clarence C. Harmon, who was also the pastor of Behlin Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. and Presiding Bishop of the O.M.Kelly F.D.Washington Brotherhood of the Church of God in Christ. While in the Brotherhood Jones served as Chairman of the South Central District.  Jones, astute in the Word of God began his Biblical Studies at Community Bible Institute and Seminary in Brooklyn, NY and is presently committed to a rigorous course of study as he continues to pursue his theological endeavors.

 

His faithfulness and unselfish dedication opened the way to the Pastorate as he took the reins from Bishop C. C. Harmon and became the Pastor of Behlin Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, now known as the Divine Destiny Christian Center. In September 2011 Pastor Jones was consecrated a Bishop in the Lords Church by the Presiding Prelate of the Celebration of Praise Ministries Inc., Chief Apostle Q .S. Caldwell; at which time he was also appointed as the Jurisdictional Bishop over the New York State Jurisdiction of the Celebration of Praise Ministries Inc. As God continues to approve this great work, in March 2012 He blessed Bishop Jones to open another door for Ministry and Divine Destiny Christian Center  became one Church in two locations; Brooklyn, NY and Massapequa, NY.  Bishop Jones is an intuitive leader with vision; he stands firm in his position that every born again believer has a God ordained Divine Destiny, as found in Jeremiah 29:11 and he is the chosen vessel that God will use to facilitate the journey.

 

Bishop Jones is graced with a prolific Spiritual Father of the City of New York, His Eminence Bishop Eric R. Figueroa and under his guidance, impartation and leadership is apart of the New Life Covenant Fellowship.

In 2017, Divine Destiny Christian Center graduated to the Divine Destiny Cathedral with a hallmark Homecoming Celebration.  This next level of ministry has Jones leading a healthy ministry into the next dimension, "Our New Is Now!"

 

He’s an anointed preacher, which lends itself to his outstanding delivery of the Word of God. He possesses a simplistic, charismatic, illustrative way of ministering a Rhema Word that leaves an indelible mark and continues to provoke change in the lives of many.

 

Bishop Jones has been commissioned by the Lord to preach an undying message that propels God’s people into their Divine Destiny.

 

He is the loving husband of Lady Yvonne Jones and they are blessed with three beautiful children Yanique Shantel, James Aaron Jr., and Kyla Renee.
